The final spring-cleaning craft I had to do was to create a few graduation gifts…okay, okay…a lot of them which is why I went MIA. My day job is in higher education, and I am a type A, plan all the things person so one of the gifts I always make for students going off to college is an expandable file folder. I always like to add a personal touch so for this folder I added the graduates name on the outside. I label a few of the file folders with things that are important for students going off to campus to have a second copy of in case when they arrive on college something is needed. Here are the tabs I recommend:
Transcripts (An official copy (meaning it’s in a sealed envelope, of high school and any college transcripts)
Financial Aid/Scholarships (If you have any scholarships that you have sent to your school make a running list of the organization and the amount so that you can make sure you see them in your account, if your submitted the FAFSA and have award letters file them here)
Advising (If you have a copy of your schedule or once you get a copy, place it here)
Medical Records (this may or may not be needed but for some colleges you will need copies of your immunization records or if you’re an athlete you may need a copy of your most recent physical) This is also a great place to list any medications you may need/health quick notes like if you’re allergic or if you keep an Epi pen you can keep a running list your pen purchase to ensure you’re not using an expired pen
Res Life this is a great tab if you will be staying on campus- you can file your roommate assignment here.
