#HowHolly Spring Cleaning Crafts

Hey Belle Hey-

Welcome to June! I can’t believe that summer is just around the corner. This month’s post is a week behind but that’s because I really needed to do some spring-cleaning blog crafts so I thought the blog was the perfect space to share a few ideas.

My Cart Desk with Planner and Cricut

The first thing I needed to do is say goodbye to a computer that was taking up space in my craft room. I am still working to revamp my main craft desk space, but this is another desk that I have that was my first grown up purchase when I purchased my new home. The computer that sat there needed to transition and it has given me a space to place my laptop when needed, spread out my Cricut machine and finally….unbox my Cinch Thermal Machine that I purchased when they first launched.

The next spring-cleaning craft I needed to do was to add an extra quote to my seasonal photo frame. I consider myself a Target Dollar Spot connoisseur and a few years back I stumbled up this frame with the seasons and a few holidays (Christmas, Easter, the New Year) mixed in. The only season missing was summer, so I was always forced to put it away despite wanting to keep the frame out on my fireplace mantle all year. Enter my posh DIY skills- I used some scraps in the studio (cardstock 65-gram paper and black vinyl) to add a summer sign and just like that, I have a frame ready for all year.

The final spring-cleaning craft I had to do was to create a few graduation gifts…okay, okay…a lot of them which is why I went MIA. My day job is in higher education, and I am a type A, plan all the things person so one of the gifts I always make for students going off to college is an expandable file folder. I always like to add a personal touch so for this folder I added the graduates name on the outside. I label a few of the file folders with things that are important for students going off to campus to have a second copy of in case when they arrive on college something is needed. Here are the tabs I recommend:

Transcripts (An official copy (meaning it’s in a sealed envelope, of high school and any college transcripts)

Financial Aid/Scholarships (If you have any scholarships that you have sent to your school make a running list of the organization and the amount so that you can make sure you see them in your account, if your submitted the FAFSA and have award letters file them here)

Advising (If you have a copy of your schedule or once you get a copy, place it here)

Medical Records (this may or may not be needed but for some colleges you will need copies of your immunization records or if you’re an athlete you may need a copy of your most recent physical) This is also a great place to list any medications you may need/health quick notes like if you’re allergic or if you keep an Epi pen you can keep a running list your pen purchase to ensure you’re not using an expired pen

Res Life this is a great tab if you will be staying on campus- you can file your roommate assignment here.

And just like that, spring cleaning is done and I am ready to start my summer crafting….I have a few crafts planned for outside and possibly there is a machine upgrade in the very near future in the studio so I will be sure to bring you all along.

What are you hoping to craft this summer? Comment Below… and

As Always,
